According to statistics, around 70% of first-generation wealth is lost by the second generation over 90% of the time and they're “back to shirtsleeves” by the third generation. This is where the adage "shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations" actually came from, which puts the family legacy at risk. So how do you reverse this cycle and not become another statistic? In this episode, Don Wenner reveals the real secret to success, happiness, and fulfillment – the power of intentionality. You have to make sure you’re bringing it into all eight F’s of your life – faith, family, friends, freedom, fun, film, fitness, and finance. An expert in scaling high growth high-profit businesses, Don is the founder and CEO of DLP Real Estate Capital, a multi-faceted private real estate investment company that specifically invests in workforce housing in the hope to impact the workforce housing affordability crisis, the jobs crisis, the “shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations” crisis, the legacy crisis, and ultimately, the happiness crisis. Don is also the host of the IMPACT podcast, and the author of Building an Elite Organization: The Blueprint to Scaling a High-Growth, High-Profit Business. Over the years, he has grown his company by over 60% every year for 15 years; today, they’re worth over $2 billion – and still growing, thanks to the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). Here are some power takeaways from today’s conversation:
Episode Highlights: The Concept of "Shirtsleeves to Shirtsleeves in Three Generations" Most first-generation wealth creators work really hard. They come from "nothing" to creating and building wealth. But they're so focused on wealth creation that they fail to appropriately raise their children in a way they understand how to use wealth wisely. Instead of encouraging them to accomplish anything, they enable them to do nothing. In other words, they don’t invest in their kids and put them in a position where they could use their wealth to do great things. Wealth then becomes something that holds them back from ever doing anything. They're lazy, entitled, and they lack motivation. They basically blow through the money that it's either all gone by the second generation or by the third. Aiming to reverse this cycle, Don has set up a prosperity, family wealth, and legacy membership group to help first-generation wealth creators figure out how they can reverse this cycle and not be another statistic. Having the ability to teach your kids how to develop grit and a growth mindset is also crucial. It is impossible to take a single step forward without shifting the balance. To liberate yourself from the state of inertia and stressful, destructive habits, you must get up-close and personal with your self-image, understand your current and desired circumstances, and develop communication that will let you FOCUS. To grasp the merit of self-actualization, one must understand that practical, spiritual, or mental success is a journey that starts with introspection. That is the fundamental reason behind many failures. We must not overlook the underlying process that fuels the transformation of our minds. Jerome is an exceptional apartment investor, real estate expert, and a host of the dreamcatchers and Myers methods podcasts. He has built a multi-million-dollar portfolio in the housing industry from scratch, using the irreplaceable power of insight. His body of work, equally as compelling as it is diverse, has led him to unique revelations that transcend the field of real estate. With his assistance, we have uncovered a concrete structure to achieve the ever-elusive state of fulfillment and drive - By following the gradual steps of self-identification, communication, and the relentless effort to manifest your personality in your labor. These steps will free you from various doubts, mind-numbing stressors and bring your mind to an utter harmony of willpower that yields results. Join our combined efforts to dissect the importance of building your self-image that is clear and intoxicating to people around you. A well-defined and realized self-image will reap the rewards of envisioning a happier, more consistently productive, and engaging life. It will assist others to get on the same wave and harmonize with your specific plans, constructing indestructible communications and relationships in the process. This is the reason that I can’t stop contemplating my thorough discussion with Jerome. With just a small nudge, we have built a bridge towards something special - a hidden formula of mastering one’s fears, inertia, insecurities and stress. All of the above can be methodically removed by applying a single, simplest methodology of grasping one’s self-image. This, in turn, kicks off a journey that will let us understand our hidden “design” flaws and provide us with tools for a quality repair simultaneously. We can only move to the light we’ve uncovered inside of ourselves. Being aware of your programming, beliefs, and the way you are living verses the life you envision unlocks choices, opportunity, and happiness. To learn more about creating awareness, the law of attraction, the power of being, and how to match the frequency of the reality you want, tune into episode 18. A lot of changes have been brought into my world recently, and I knew I needed to do something different, mainly that I needed to re-evaluate my day to day patterns to see what I needed to change. Ron Patulski’s name has been coming up in a lot of my conversations recently. Ron is a CPA, business owner, and business performance coach. In my conversations with Ron, I have gained so much insight and awareness on where I am at on my journey to having the life that I want, as well as the programming that I need to shift that is not working for me. This is why I asked Ron to have a conversation with me. A lot of people do not realize that everything is energy and ultimately starts with them. You have choices and do not have to live a life influenced by your past or beliefs. Ron’s message is universal and it is my hope that our conversation can be a resource on the path to building your good life. Listen in as we take a deep dive into the quantum physics perspective. We breakdown the cause and effect module, and how this plays into our day to day. We discuss the importance of defining your happiness, being aware of your programming, perception verses projection, and using the law of attraction to manifest relationships, happiness, and the life you desire. Ron helps others understand a level of happiness that exist and coaches them on where to start when becoming clear on who they want to become and achieving their happiness. From working with Ron, I had an epiphany on my own life as a business owner, how I interact with people, and the type of people I am attracting. What I realized was that I needed to use my energy and mind to attract the type of people that I wanted to work with. Instead, I have attracted other people fighting from my same perspective and programming, and our compounding issues prevented our teams performance. This is why I am obsessed with my conversation with Ron. The awareness from our conversation is bringing this to my attention. Awareness helps me shift what is not working for me, and creates the choices, opportunity, and energy change that is crucial to my key relationships and good life I envision. When you’re ready to start taking action on manifesting the reality that you want, listen to episode 18. Connect with Ron Patulski

S4E16: A Power Woman’s Journey To Overcoming Fear, Defining Your Purpose, Living Without Shame, And Achieving Success With Claire Brown
“Things which are most personal, are most universal.” You are not alone on your journey and having a safe space where you can connect and grow with like minded individuals will support you on the path to living from your true self and building the life you envision. If you want to learn more about overcoming shame, uncovering your purpose, finding your voice, and moving forward in motherhood, dating, and life with confidence, listen to episode 16. Staying open minded and in a constant state of discovery to be exposed to different ways of thinking, lifestyles, and the journeys that people take on the path to their good life is so important to me. It’s conversations like these that help me re-solidify the importance of protecting my mind and input so that I can maintain a positive and accountable mindset. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to connect and have a conversation with Claire Brown. Claire and I are both parents, entrepreneurs, and real estate business professionals. One thing I can not relate to Claire on, is being a single mother and living with all of the overwhelming challenges of responsibility, fear, and shame. Despite life’s obstacles, today Claire is achieving balance and success in her personal and work life. Claire share’s with me her story on overcoming heartbreak, fear, and shame after her divorce, and how she’s been able to gain flexibility, freedom, and confidence in her life since then. Claire has now been working and succeeding in real estate with Keller Williams for 6 years, started a podcast, has written a book, has been a real estate and business coach, and has created a Power Women community for single mothers and women to connect, learn, and grow together. I am truly wowed and motivated by Claire’s story, mindset, and achievements. It is my hope that you too can be inspired, take on new insights, and learn from her journey. Claire also shares with me more about her background, her journey to where she’s at today, and her successes. We break down her book, “Ring or Fling: The Power Woman’s Guide to Self-Discovery, Setting Standards, and Dating with Confidence”, as well as the “Power Women” Facebook community that she created as a safe place for single mothers and women to have a voice and support, while learning and growing from each other. We discuss how Claire manages the mindset that’s required to be a “power woman”. Claire shares with me some tips on how to overcome the overwhelming feeling of being smothered by obligation and responsibility to become more flexible, and establish more freedom to succeed at a high level. We also cover overcoming your past experiences and fears, being vulnerable, and living from our authentic selves. Claire is truly inspiring. She’s a woman who is succeeding and winning in motherhood, her personal life, and her business, despite having a full time partner. I believe other women can gain clarity and establish new found inspiration on overcoming their own obstacles, shame and fear, to ultimately find their voice and purpose in life after listening to our conversation. Take inspired action now towards strengthening your best asset - you - and achieving the confidence necessary on the path to living the life you desire and listen to episode 16 now. Do you desire a deeper relationship with those who matter most to you? Do you understand the importance of being intentional in developing those key relationships, and having the right conversations that pull you towards the vision of your good life? If you want to gain insight on your own key relationships, what you can do to develop and strengthen those connections, and how sweetening those relationships can really make a difference, listen to episode 12. In my conversation with Paige Cosby, she shares her journey with me to where she’s at today; From working at Mary Kay in her early 20’s, to uncovering her passion and achieving growth and successes in the Real Estate industry today. Paige also share’s with me her leadership, motivation, successes, and personal experience in blending her and her husband’s families after forming their new marriage together. Paige talks about her experience at BOLD, a training event that teaches real estate agents powerful tools to thrive in their business. This experience completely shifted her mindset and outlook on her blended family, and how she’s been able to adapt what she’s learned not only at home but in her business too. We discuss how this mindset shift brought on her inspiration and creation of her passion project, Blended Bloopers, an online community for people in blended families. She’s not only been able to connect with other blended families, but she’s also been able to repair relationships within her own blended family. I can truly connect to Paige’s mission. Her and I are both blessed to create the conversations that are necessary to others in order for them to grow and experience new ideas and opportunities. People grow into the conversations around them, and it’s important to show up and put yourself in the right ones that support you on the path to the life you envision. What’s different about my conversation with Page, is that I left it wanting to adapt a whole other dimension to what “living the good life” means to me. What I have learned is that although you may have the time and resources to do what you want to do, having the right people and connections to do those things with is a crucial part in living your best life. S4E11: Gene Rivers - Don't Wait Til Retirement To Enjoy Life: Creating Opportunities, Growth, And Success
Is your work-life balance aligned so that you can live the life you desire? Are you surrounding yourself with high level people that support the path to your success and life you envision? I remember listening to Gene talk on Geoff’s podcast, The One Thing back in 2017. This conversation changed the way I think about being a business owner and the possibilities to create the life I desire. I’ve learned that time is the most valuable thing and it is crucial how we spend it. I find value in my conversation with Gene because he helps me understand better how I can be more intentional with my choices and making sure they’re aligned with my vision. Listen in to episode eleven as Gene and I go a little deeper into the Quantum Leap. This changed my perspective on the seasons of life and the importance of keeping up with the things that are important now while leaving the rest, so that I can establish balance, success, and ultimately create the life that I want to live. We discuss how Gene manages his work dynamic by leading others through accountability, how he is able to attract high level employees to create opportunities, growth and success, and how he curates conversations so that people can continue to continuously grow and up their game in the world of real estate and business ownership. I know I left this conversation with inspiration, and valuable takeaways that I can’t wait to implement in my life and vision for The Mentee. I am grateful for the opportunity to help like minded people on the path to their good life by exposing them to these conversations, new ideas, opportunities and connections! In this episode of The Mentee Podcast, we sit down with our new host for season four, Wyatt Graves, to dive a little deeper into Wyatt’s Journey and what inspired his vision and mission with The Mentee. Wyatt shares his story in 2016, where he suffered tremendous devastation due to flooding. Around 2017 he was introduced to the founder of The Mentee, The Mentee Podcast, and The Inner Circle mastermind community, Geoff Woods. This is where he first heard the quote by Jim Rohn, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” Being inspired by this quote, as well as Geoff’s journey of going from employee to entrepreneur, Wyatt knew he wanted to go all in. Welcome back to the show, are you smiling right now? I hope you’ve intentions for a wonderful day today. I am sending you good vibes.
On today’s episode we are pulling back the curtains of our private community called the inner circle. It’s a monthly membership where you get access to the action takers and high performers who are a part of this community. As well as weekly training us and the things Geoff and I are learning from our mentors.
In our call today we talk with a newer member of the inner circle. He has taken massive action on upgrading his 5 and it snowballing. He and I recorded this conversation weeks ago, and just today he emailed me saying that one of the mentors he reached out to that he thought would never respond to his email - just replied and agreed to mentor him.
I’m not making this up.
So, let’s give you a little taste of what happens when you get into a supportive community that encourages you, genuinely cares about your success, and helps you find your highest leverage activities so you can make meaningful progress on your career or business.
With that, let’s jump into my conversation with Jason Issac.

If you asked Geoff Woods why he started the Mentee Podcast, he will tell you that you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. He would also tell you to be more interested than interesting and start coming from a place of value. We believe that surrounding yourself with those who build you up and coming from a place of value comes down to making moments that matter. Today’s guest, Jon Vroman, was inspired by this idea. He founded the Front Row Foundation and wrote the #1 bestselling book The Front Row Factor, and he has dedicated the rest of his life to helping others, especially people who are fighting for their lives, create moments that matter. In this episode we shared with you 3 keys on how to make moments that matter: There is a big lesson in this episode guys… make moments for other people that matter. --
