The Mentee Podcast

Last Sunday morning during family time, I got a call from my friend Craig. He was struggling to realize his importance and his impact in the world, especially as he’s going through a recent career transition. Our conversation ended up being a perfect fit for the listeners of the show, and so we decided to release it to you! Enjoy.

I’m overwhelmed with gratitude to everyone who has listened to the Mentee podcast, that I felt compelled to record this short bonus episode. After leaving yet another event by the incredible Ryan Moran, I decided to reflect on my journey thus far, how simple but ACTIONABLE steps have made an impact on my career, and how you can do the same. We are all similar.

Since touching down in Austin, I’ve seen first hand how Gary Keller and Jay Papasan have been implementing the tactics mentioned in The One Thing. It’s not just a book they wrote, it’s a code they live by. In this episode I reflect on what I’ve seen here since November 2015, and how you can get more done in less time by focusing on your one thing.

Tucker Max is most well known for his book I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell, and is now leading the company Book In A Box which is focused on helping authors become self-published. Tucker knows better than anyone the pain that can come from not realizing your strengths and weaknesses and being able to truly focus on what you’re good at. As he says, you can’t do everything by yourself, and it’s important to have the right self-awareness to be able to ask for help at the right time.

Wes is the founder of A Human Project, an organization focused on bringing about REAL change and REAL empowerment. He agreed to chat with me this week about common issues with non-profits in today’s business climate, and where things must shift if we hope to make a true impact on the world.
